Event: Manila International Book Fair 2011

"MIBF 2011"And it’s that time of the year again! The 32nd Manila International Book Fair is opening its doors starting this September 14, for an (almost) week-long affair that ends on September 18.

Can you believe that the first time I heard about the book fair was in 2006? I was fresh out of college and a friend asked me if I would like to volunteer for it. Since I didn’t have a job then, I agreed–and had the best eight days of my life! Well, of 2006. Aside from graduating, getting my first job, and getting into a scriptwriting workshop. So yeah, anyway, those were eight great days. Moving on. I’ve been going to the book fair ever since then, though I no longer get to volunteer on account of having a job.

This year’s is special though, as the Filipino Book Bloggers–with the help of some great partners and friends–will be holding the first Filipino Reader’s Conference at this year’s book fair!
